@ninenine78 that is exactly where they are headed....that is the whole point. u will be able to sit at your computer and talk to it and get things done...this with other keyboard shortcuts will result in significant productivity boost....yes there will be a shift/learning curve for many, but how people are using computers (esp. with the integration of 3D in the future) ubuntu is simply setting itself up for the long haul to be competitive.
@Markcortbass they dont have to listen to the community, its clear their mission is to reach a broader base (by millions)...so if you don't like it, stop complaining and choose another distro. Linux=choice...period.
Agreed...Long time Linux user..We are both on the same page here..I don't want to type in what I want,I want nested menus..And since some Linux apps have such oddball names, the user would never, ever guess xyz is called: *Insert weird name here.* Anyway, when 10.10 is no longer supported I'll use a KDE or Xubuntu distro.

This invention is genius..why? Because I'd rather find apps that I want to use via HUD instead of finding it from a jungle of menus like Windows 7..

great theme there
my eyes hurt already
where did you find it?

I don't hope that the hud will replace the dash menu. The dash menu isn't great at all.
I hope they create a combination of hudd and the menu.
If they do replace the menu in Ubuntu 12.04LTS, I will use Kubuntu or Linux Mint.
I realy like Ubuntu, but they must listen to the comunnity!
