Most the effort comes from creating new material.
This seems like a punch of pot head kids that had to have something to preform for school and they forgot to make something... and while watching SNL stoned the night b4 they came up with this idea.
These kids acted nothing like the original. They put little effort into caturing how the originals acted and why it was funny.

It wasn't about trying to come up with new material; if you had read the "about the video," it's just the hosts trying to fill in time between acts so that the other performers could get ready and set up.
I know these kids personally, and they aren't pot heads, nor are they unintelligent. They're the kids that VOLUNTEER to organize great talent shows for amateur performers while STILL getting great grades and volunteering for other stuff.
