I have 3 F40s. One was a Life Like engine #229 that I've repainted into phase 5 and its numbered #90229. (the real #90229 is still in phase 4) My 2nd F40 is my Walthers Florida Fun train F40 #374 which, after bad engine trouble, was removed from service temporarily to be made a dummy. It's currently back in service right now. My 3rd F40 is Bachmann F40 #224. After a few years of service, the engine died and I've just finished rebuilding it into a dummy NPCU! Its now Downeaster NPCU #90220!

@apl1031 Yeah, I found my FFT engine at a hobby shop way up in northern Maine. I was very lucky. :)

Yay!! Someone else that has the same engine as me! Unfortunately the hobby shop didn't tell me the condition of the engine when I got it, and the Florida Fun Train F40 motor died a few days later. I saved the rest of it though, and made a dummy unit out of it. My Bachmann F40 did that to me too. It's like I have a curse with model F40's. They just never work right for me. :(

@trinityct Sorry to hear about that. I got lucky and found this engine on eBay and got it for $40 and the cool thing is when The Florida Fun Train went out of buisness this engine returned to normal Amtrak service and keep the Fun Train paint scheme.
