Sony, Samsung, and Sharp, Panasonic...make some of the best TVs. If your on a tight budget, Vizio, Philips, Westinghouse are good alternatives.

Don't buy Sony. Cluster of bad panels and Sony wants to pay half of repair. $2,200! No way! Now Authorized Gold Service repair guy says he'll send Sony a $1,900 repair, but charge me $745. That's the price of a new set from Costco with a 4-year warranty! Stay away from Vizio and Sony, they're sister companies. Mine is KDL46V100 built in June 2008. Do the research and find out how many people are having problems before you buy.
