HASMB 2002 at Kam Tournament

The Oahu portion of the 2002 Hawaii All-State Marching Band at the Kamehameha Bandfest, our first public performance. This was after about 3 or 4 rehearsals once a month.

as you might notice the dance interlude needs much work, and the "aloha" at the end doesn't sound sincere enough. we just put in the 4-count drum beat before the last note during the previous rehearsal...obviously someone forgot hehe

by now some of you might be tired of hearing the same songs over and over again...so here's a tip: in this vid, we played it thru twice. the second time we faced the audience but since this was filmed in front of the dancers, our sound is muffled and distorted. it's a bit cleaner though as we warmed up from the first time.

i do apologize for the rough camera work...at the time, the camera was brand new and my dad was learning how to use it on the fly...especially the zoom. well he did fool around with it before that night but you can't really prepare for anything until you get there...and with a brand new camera purchased just that week...um...ya...but the important thing is the sound however crude we sounded then...

wow, you really see the difference in the videos from the california performances. the size of the group doubles (or triples lol) & the playing is much cleaner. i love this one, though. we're all in our respective school's uniforms, yet we're all playing as one. so cool ^_^
