"Living in the Urban Jungle" -- Perspectives of Working Children in Bangladesh was produced by 20 working children from Dhaka and Barisal as part of a UNICEF photography training project in partnership with DRIK gallery and the Telenor Group. The project is part of a national communication campaign to combat the social acceptance of child labour. UNICEF believes that the first step toward changing societal views about children who live and work on the street, is to give these children a chance to express themselves in the public sphere; to have their feelings, ideas and creativity understood and appreciated. Having their words and images featured in this collection represents an important form of social recognition for the children involved - all of whom are beneficiaries of the Protection of Children at Risk (PCAR) project supported by UNICEF.
