Wait! When was the video actually taken? The plane did go out of service in like 2003 or something and this video was merely uploaded to YouTube in 2007.

the most impressive sonic boom i've ever seen here on youtube!!!

"Concorde could Supercruise (no afterburners) at Mach 2.02-2.04 for Transatlantic flights. Pretty darn impressive for a plane carrying passengers."
Also pretty darn impressive for a plane that was designed before electronic pocket calculators EXISTED!
All the complex calculations for her design/performance were calculated by hand and slide-rule!

Passe bien la meuf en rouge ! ^^

@ecrins70 Did I say it didn't have afterburners? No, I said it has supercruise. It couldn't fly transatlantic flights if it required afterburners to maintain supersonic flight. Afterburners are very fuel ineffcient, great for a big boost of speed but they burn up considerable amounts of your fuel supply. Plus, I have a lot of experience working on turbofan, turbojet, gas turbine and piston engines for aircraft as an Airframe and Powerplant mechanic.

@ecrins70 Hes saying it can do that speed without afterburners.

it went to the speed of sound
The F-22 has Supercruise, which allows it to maintain Mach 1.7 without afterburners and Mach 2+ with afterburners. Concorde could Supercruise (no afterburners) at Mach 2.02-2.04 for Transatlantic flights. Pretty darn impressive for a plane carrying passengers.

Really? You think it's ugly? Probably the single most beautiful commercial aircraft ever built imho.
