Irish Singer with a Beautiful Voice (Singing Karen Carpenter)

This is my mother. She was awarded a scholarship to the London School of Opera when she was just 14, but her parents wouldn't allow her to take it. She grew up in Dublin, Ireland at a time when misogyny ran rife, and women were meant to be nothing more than housewives. She's since lost all self-belief and keeps on making up excuses for not pursuing her passion. After all these years I'm trying to get her to believe in herself again...

Any comments or encouragement would be really appreciated! I will pass it all on to her, and then maybe I can get her to do a proper video.

I have played the clubs, bars and hotels.....run basement music clubs in the city, worked in duos and been semi-pro in a band for 10 years at one point...also written reviews of concerts and artists for a newspaper....so I know a bit about talent.....this lady here has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. I would buy her cd's and pay well to go and see her in concert. Please tell your Mum to accept that she isn't just a magnificent mother....she is a star-in-waiting. More songs!!

There are a lot of Pop stars out there that are not able to sing in the studio with all its technical tricks as good as your mother live at home beside doing other things!

She's singing this beautifully with beyond minimal effort while ironing clothes??!! Positively stunning voice! Strikingly gentle and extremely soothing.
