  • What kind of device has Fleming in her throat that allows her an uninterrupted perfectly polished sound flow without the slightest compromise in consonant articulation - in all other voices the sound is lowered or thinned or even interrupted during the consonant production but not in the case of Fleming as if the two procedures are totally irrelevant.

The sound flows like a flight in a dream where the feet never touch the ground

  • Thank you again for posting another wonderful clip! What beautiful voices - all at once. I know it's how the story goes, but how could he not choose the Marschalin? :)

  • @operassassin

I saw the interview long after I wrote this comment above. I have to say it is a magnificent metaphor to describe what Fleming does but not at the least does it describe the way she achieves that which I am 100% sure she herself does not understand one bit :)) She thinks she does but she doesnt

It is a Miracle of Singing

  • @LohengrinT She has described this as "consonants being clothespins on the sound" as if the musical line were a clothes line.

  • @Klassizismus I know! I really really REALLY want this on DVD but it takes so long. Maby it wont even be released :(

  • the art of legato, dear Logengrin, to a degre beyond perfection

  • Amazing!

  • Thank you so much for posting this. It's an EXCELLENT rendition by all three ladies! I hope that they are going to release this performance on DVD!
