Looks like the kettle is calling the porcelain black, here. You always treat a gun as though it is loaded. That means keep the muzzle in a safe direction, keep your finger off the trigger until you are shooting, keep the safety engaged until you're ready to shoot, and be aware of what is beyond your target before you disengage the safety.
