  • Brilliant !!!, love the Sylvia big finish.

  • Thanks, went to see Thiys van leer in the summer in Liverpool and was just about sitting on the end of the organ (Hammond XB3 and leslie 122 XB) and it was there that i noticed Sylvia was in the key of F not G that ive been playing it in for years.Thats the hardest, changing the key to a tune that you can play with your eyes shut!!

The B3000 went off to france as i bought the RT3-that was just past its sell by date so thatw ent as well.I now have a Hammond XE-2 coupled to a Leslie 822.

  • I own a B3000 myself and i dont know if i would give it away for a B3.... would you?

I love this Organ and the keys are best to play of all Hammonds i know.

    Also love the Rotosonic ;-)

    Nice Playing btw.

  • Yes i did make a mistake getting rid of the B3000-the big tonewheel had the old wax capacitors and was dull beyond words. The 145 drum speeded up like a foam one.Cant wait to get that rotosonic slow ramp up again.

  • It must have been modified then cos the standard 11 pin is the HL722 for this.Mind you ,an electronic whizz should be able to put any Leslie onto any organ.

  • I've played on a B3000 twice before and it sounded great. It had the Leslie 147 I believe.

  • @Segs79 B3's are like Kirby vacuums, they don't really die they just get passed around. Like the Kirby some say the B3 is just too heavy (lol). Like the Kirby, some people say you can get a slightly different model that has some different features, but it can do the exact same thing.

How's this for a Hoot- Here in Columbus today there is a Hammond Concorde for 350 and a B3000 W/ a Leslie (200Watt it says) for 950

Me? I'll take the Concorde! Just listen to the 400+ songs on my playlists Umight2

  • I don't know.,,, I am not a fan of the Hammond solid state organs. It's funny, these LSI organs are more retro then the tonewheels, When I hear a B3000 or an Aurora Spinet I think of a shopping mall in the early 80's or Lawrence Welk. The tone is too bright and mono, even with a Leslie. I can't knock Hammond for keeping up with the competition in the '70s, but i don't see how these organs stand up to a tonewheel B3 or its sisters and spinet cousins. But to each his own.

  • Very gospel like at... 2:39

  • ... see and people said the B3000 sucked... don't get me wrong - B3 is THE Legend! I just like all the other potions and sounds of the B3000... like the piano! lol!
