@4000cardinal then abt the message "its ok and its cool to do that". We are living in an era in which a lot of younster's think doing evil or violent acts is 'cool'.Its a global phenomenon.There are many factors for that.. The influence of media is also one major factor..But that's not movies alone.

Just think..How many famous ppl(especially youth celebs like singers) are there in this world that are leading and encouraging ppl to do good???

@4000cardinal The criminal behaviour was there in our societies even before movies were made.What about the terrorists in many countries??Are they killing and spreading terror because they watched bollywood movies ?Also the criminal behaviour is not something that can be seen in India alone.What about racism(yes like the black the brown the white) and religious fanaticism in many societies??Is that because of movies?

@4000cardinal Corruption is there .But the level of corruption is different in different states.My home state Kerala is the least corrupt ..but states like Bihar are very corrupt.I know many ppl from there and what you said is true..they are afraid of the don of that particular area...actually many dons and criminals are members of state legislative and parliament from there.But don't think its the situation in every state in India.

the don of a particular area so they are afraid to speak....i dont think people have the guts to come out in public and speak esp in a coutnry like india where rights are violated big time, for poor people esp...whereas if u are rich u can bribe and get away a typical example is road accidents i have seen someone giving officer money and getting away with the crime

@saajanjohn123 right u may have a valid point of the statistics..i am however a man of just reasoning i dont count on media bcz i have seen the media lie alot. so i decided to go to india personally meet people, listen to them not just in 2011 but in 2009 also and many years in the past...i know for a fact that there is a major group of people who are denied their rights and most of them are poor some of them are so scared they dont want to speak against government bcz someone is

@saajanjohn123 but dont millions of indians support bollywood? sure movies are fantasy then how do u judge the criminal behavior displayed in our socities today such as killing, robbery, rapes? they are all shown in bollywood movies to change people's mind and to send the message "its okay and cool to do that". its more to movies about being fantasy they purposely do violent dirty acts to send negative messages.

Are you talking about Hollywood?BTW which movie industry in the world is not showing killing ,alcohol or violence?Everyone have the freedom to choose what they watch. If you don't like Bollywood movies don't watch them. No one forced you.There are billions in this world who loves our movies.Also how will you know what our grandfathers like or not?.After reading all your comments I'm convinced that you HATE India and Indians.That's why you comment like this
