  • Francy Hughes died for nothing and his death achieved nothing...other than being an advertising totem for the Sinn Fein/PIRA cause. And that worked out real well for us and for them: the Armani suit brigade. Francy was merely Sinn Fein cannon-fodder, and a WRETCHED LEGACY FOR HIS FAMILY. But cheer up The Hughes Family, the fellas'll get the best OBLAIRE we can to write a song about him, he'll become the new "Kevin Barry". And "THE DARK" wept and nodded in agreement.

  • @2000DPL While I understand your points of view here my friend, I wrote this song as a tribute to how heroic Francis Hughes was, not about the rights and wrongs of the decisions the PIRA made surrounding the hunger strikes, or the GFA. And I think the song should be taken on those merits. At least that's how I would like people to take it.

  • Francis Hughes, like a lot of irishmen, had balls, he took the fight to the british. Francis Hughes I salute you.

  • @Stoneypie You really should read up on your history before making stupid comments. This was never a religious war, indeed some of the most famous Irish republicans were protestant. This was a war for freedom of oppression, and an 800 year fight for civil rights. The Brits turned it into a religious war by denying catholic citizens the same rights as their protestant counterparts, to such an extent that they outlawed going to worship their God. Get your facts straight before mouthing crap

  • enjoy heaven francis....never forgotten......
