being unrecognized was the sine qua non condition to create the music they wanted. creativity with no compromise so yes they all deserved to be better known, however, anyone interested ended up knowing about them, and the mainstream crowd didn't because they were not interested enough to make the effort of knowing them. if you see what i mean.
