Dear A1 piano ( great name, by the way) of course that is your position, or you wouldn't have said so. I wasn't trying to change that.
My position is aimed at anyone reading any of this who might want to make their own mind up after hearing the original...

musique de Ferre - paroles d'Aragon. Je l'ai entendu a Paris, 1967.

Mr Mirabassi's interpretation is of an original piece of music, by Leo Ferre, which itself expressed the sentiments of a poem by Aragon.
Ferre's melody - and its orchestration, let us not forget - perfectly captures the slow, reflective, wistful and profoundly moving sense of the words. Mr Mirabassi has merely - if skilfully - woven the tune into a pretty if rather slight development of its themes.
It is no match for the original.

trop vite, trop mince - essayez la chanson de Ferre, ca 1967 (sa musique - paroles d'Aragon).

@markrevelle1 Even if based on Leo Ferré song, this version mainly relies on Giovanni Mirabassi recent (re)interpretation, which I'm more comfortable with.

Très jolie musique du Giovanni Mirabassi musicien que je découvre; quel est le titre du morceau ?
