At the end of the lesson you talk of a song about a young woman going to a tree for advice. A similar song about questioning trees is used in Russian film Ирония судьбы или С легким паром (The Irony of Fate). I do not recall the exact title of the song and it is towards the end of this popular Christmastime film. Thank you for the lesson.

Thanks to the great videos. I am a self learner and I have watched through the previous of them. However, up till now I have difficulty in distinguishing the pronunciation of
(-ый, -ий) (-ие, -ые)
(-ая, -яя) (-а, -ай)
(-е, ей).
Could anyone be kind to give me some hint on that? Many thanks.
I must know why you tap the back of your neck when you make an alchahol reference!!!!

@BentTemple The side of the neck. It is Russian sign language for someone who is 'vypivshii' or "in a state of having drunk out".

hello, is there a reason that he, she, and we are all used with the neuter form? I would think it would be он был, она была они были, мы были. etc.. do you know why it does not follow that line? Thanks for your great instruction!

Because the he and she are not the subject, they become the indirect object and the subject becomes "impersonal". hence the term impersonal constructions. The neuter is always used in these cases because the subject, and not the indirect object determines the gender and number of the verb.
