To everyone disgusted with the fact that he still tried to sell a plot, you might want to listen to the call more closely. There are a few signs he was actually looking for more ways to help the guy. He offers to bring by the papers that afternoon to the guys house, he is fishing for an address, he could probably just as easily sell it over the phone. The second part is the fact he wants him to hold off till tomorrow, this is to get the guy to postpone till helps get there.
