This goes down as one of the most ridiculous things I've done yet. In case you couldn't tell, at about 12 seconds in, here's what I did.
1) Reportal on the far wall in the precise spot which is exactly opposite the laser receptacle behind me.
2) Turn and place a second portal on the wall where the laser is hitting it. This removes the laser wall so I can fly through.
3) Catch the cube in midair, which is falling out from having pressed the button moments ago.
4) Make sure, during all of this, that I am flying in the right direction and holding the right movement key, then time a jump off the wall-mounted laser receptacle without looking, to clear the gap without ever having moved the platform.
All in the freaking blink of an eye.
Now, what a couple others have been doing, is moving the platform closer first, then doing this without the added laser receptacle jump, which of course is quite a few seconds slower. That is nuts in and of itself, and the route was found by a baby (not an actual baby, that's his alias). Adding this jump so the platform never has to move at all bumps this up to insane and marks it as one of the most ridiculous things I've done.
I was so damn afraid of choking after I made the jump, that I hardly even bunny hopped during the ending of the chamber (and I was very careful when placing the cube). This didn't really cost a lot of time because circle jumping off the platform after placing the cube kind of sends you flying too far, and after I go through the portal I really need to make sure I place the last orange portal in the precisely correct spot, because it does not auto-aim it if you get near, and it is very easy to mis-place it slightly. In fact, the 2nd place and 3rd place guys both messed up the placement in their runs (a baby and Nooch). So, all in all, the ending didn't really cost me much time, and I'm just glad I didn't choke.
I was actually planning my video title for the choked run I was expecting to get when I nailed the jump: "EVEN WORSE THAN FINALE2". I was surprised and caught off guard because I was a little bit distracted by my planned failure, so I was lucky I didn't accidentally throw the cube into the pit or something.
Phew.

Oh snap nice. I was trying to do something similar to that but kept missing the platform to the right. I guess ill have to have a pretty crazy run to beat this. I also tried jumping off of the falling cube, but there were way too many variables for that to be useful.

@MrINFANTS Yeah, it took a bit of trial and error to find the correct angle/movements to make sure I landed on the platform instead of flying off into the pit.
