And pique means "to prick" not "pick". If you are wanting to learn dance, I suggest going to an actual class with a teacher that has AT LEAST a BFA, if not an MFA in dance and has preferably worked with a company and/or performed in credible performance spaces. Don't try to learn from Youtube.

I was enjoying you videos until this one and the one on glissade tour jete. You lost credibility with me by not spellling "pique" correctly and I'm pretty sure your demonstration of a glissade was not technically correct. These are things that are easily researched and verified.
Your teaching style is warm and inviting, I would not mind taking lessons from you as long as I knew you knew your stuff.

I just started Modern in September, so I don't know much, but doesn't a pique normally go up to passe?

This is awful. If you want to learn to dance, look up JustForKix. For the love of God, don't listen to this woman.

are you going to get up into retire at any point and by the way when you said "we will be picking up the leg that is now on the ground" both legs were on the ground
-
i find it kind of funny that after telling us to spot you completely forget to spot
and yea, its pique

may i suggest to change your pants?
(i can do ballet and i know my stuff but im just watching these to laugh lol)
but really people cant really see your technique when ur wearing those big things on ur legs but good luck to you and ur dance future!!

this video sucks. haha. they spelled "pique" Horribly wrong. and to those people saying "this is clearly ballet", you're right, but at the same time, you're wrong. Ballet is one of the strong bases of Modern dance, along with jazz.
