Cirque uploaded videos all over to create excitement about Shpeel and sell tickets. I posted my reviews to warn people about it. I've seen literally hundreds of shows, some great, some bad. THIS was the only one I was disappointed enough with to bother reviewing.
It's Cirque du Soleil, which is usually great. Shpeel was awful, and Cirque's using Chicago audiences as $100/ticket guinea pigs to help them get it ready for Broadway. Make it good, THEN open it - don't waste my money.

Cirque du Soleil's "Banana Shpeel" might be THE WORST SHOW EVER. It's simply terrible - four good-but-brief "Cirque" acts and 90 minutes of boring, unfunny "vaudeville" shtick. The Chicago Sun-Times review was right when it said it had a "limp, lame, tired script, unfunny clowns" I usually love Cirque shows, but this was a huge waste of time and money. Run away from this turkey.
