Fire station 13 was just down the road from the hotel that I was at so I got lucky on this one! This video was taken on July 24, 2010.

  • @afd5858 Yes. It seem's thats par for the course at JFD. Glad Im not there anymore. Dying towns like Jefferson and Albany are lucky to have what they got. Jefferson needs new stations and new brush rigs, support vehicles and a couple of smaller rescue's. It would also benefit them to hire a daytime response crew.

  • Actually Station 13 is staffed by 5 career personnel; which mans a 3 man truck company and a 2 man medic unit. Engine 13 is usually un-staffed unless the call dictates otherwise; ie fire in an unhydranted area.  For a Jefferson rig to cover an AFD station it would have to be a multiple alarm fire. I do recall Truck 13 first in on a fire a couple of blocks from JFD's station.

  • Yes Albany does have a new Pierce pumper tender. Station 13 is a rotating station and sometimes its only maned with the medic crew. We have had to cover that station a lot when i was at Jefferson.
