Planxty playing live in the National Stadium on the South Circular Road in Dublin 1973
The information on the broadcast indicated that this tune was the Humours of Ballyloughlin.
But I bow to the superior knowledge of:

It's the Merry Blacksmith!

I'm sure we would all love to hear Liam's Humours of Ballyloughlin solo from Planxty's "Well Below The Valley" lp. It would be great if someone could post it.

It's funny, this was recorded the year before I was born and I've went all that time not knowing about Planxty. They're like the Led Zeppelin of folk.
Thank god for the internet and youtube. So much amazing music would be forgotten or undiscovered without it. Cheers for all yer uploads as well bilko1234.

A great posting - The Merry Blacksmith is one of the best Irish tunes ever :-)

@MichealNabPiob
And the second one is The Merry Blacksmith. Good tunes, but definitely not the Humors of Ballyloughlin, which is a four part jig.

The first one is Kitty Gone A Milkin'

The Humours of Ballyloughlin is a jig and not a reel.

It is interesting to get the evidence that Donal was playing a genuine Greek b'zouki in this early years...
