Xaver Varnus plays "Christmas Chimes" (1919) by Desire d'Antalffy, in concert on the great organ of Canterury Cathedral, England. Taped in October, 2004.
@advisorC101 It's by Dezso d'Antalffy, a organist from Hungary who made his name in New York at the Roxy, Radio City Music Hall, and Carnegie Hall with the NY Philharmonic. I am restoring four of his pieces, including Christmas Chimes. michaelsmusicservice d ot c om
Actually its the other way around. The one thing I have learned when playing English organs is that even if they look small they are actually very powerful. I play on a magnificent three manual in my town I tell you know my friend it is incredibly powerful even only with 54 stops it is classed as a cathedral organ and its bass is so so one day while I played the ceiling showered dust.
Take Gloucester Cathedral for example. That organ has a very small casing but it packs an incredible punch.
Very Nice

A celestial portrait of divine textures and diaphanous notes, all the better to scale the heavens in moments inspired of musical grace.
