@killingj0ke23 JPJ is the man on the mandolin. He has spent a few years playing.
-
What I don't get is all the buzz about an LZ reunion tour it doesn't seem to include this musical genius.
-
John Paul Jones....Awesome.
-
@joshweldon27 Mandolin
-
What is that little guitar called?
-
@bastardgear8 I'm guessing it's an open D tuning (D-A-D-G#-A-D)
-
can some guitar genious tell me what guitar tuning is Paul Gilbert using here?
-
@MrMATT2130 Correction sir. Inarguably.
-
Paul Gilbert is a BEAST no question, but that dumbfounded look on his face says he just shared a very special moment with a very special individual and clearly he was humbled. Good for Paul for sharing his moment! This floors me every single time I hear it.

True story. My mate (I won't say who but if you're a Brit you'll know him) was rehearsing for a show at the Albert Hall recently. He got chatting to a bass player, who introduced himself as John, and asked him if he fancied lunch. In the restaurant, my mate asked "John" if he did anything else, to which he replied "I've got a band". When asked "what are they called and would I have heard of them", he said "Led Zeppelin".
fuck it, im getting a mandolin.

the thing that made led zeppelin so much better than the rest is the fact that even they're least known member (JPJ) is one of the most musically talented people ever and arguably the greatest bassist of all time.
