Insilio is a small project of Annette Ebi and Raphael Faeh at the Institute HyperWerk at the Academy of Art and Design in Basel.

Our idea with Insilio [latin for jumping high] was to build up an installation that lets you physically experience google earth. We chose the trampoline and mounted an IR sensor at the ceiling, which measures the distance to the jumper's head. Unfortunately the sensor's beam is not wide enough so the jumper has to wear a silly hat or some flat device which ensures a proper function of the sensor.

The concept needs still some improvement. Thus, we may come back to this later this year...
