and also my clamxav program found a virus that popped up, not to ask a dumb question but after scanning and exiting the program, does it get rid of the popped up virus or you have to do some stuff on it in order to get rid of it

@zeppelinator18 When you select choose which file and folders to scan, select the main hard drive name of your Mac, and it'll scan the whole thing.

Yes. Atleast with the ClamXav beta.

When you open ClamXav 2.0 you press the + button and select the HD, then pres start.

Also, ClamXav sentry is a nice addition to ClamXav. ClamXav sentry monitors your computer (well, it monitors the folders you want it to monitor... you can select your hard drive, which means it monitors everything. So when you download something, or insert a cd, usb stick, etc... it will check for malware!)
