Process Class Assignment.
Case Study Overview:
Patient already knows how to check her blood sugar. Her mother used to do her insulin injections every morning. However, the patient has recently moved to college. She did not know how to give herself insulin, and her diabetes went uncontrolled. The patient ended up in the ER with signs and symptoms of ketoacidosis. She is now stable, and the Doctor has asked the Nurse to teach the Patient how to:
1) locate three sites suitable for injection,
2) choose the right syringe,
3) choose the right insulin,
4) draw up the correct amount of insulin, and
5) use proper 45 degree angle when injecting herself (or the banana in this case.)
