Jelani Eddington is demonstrating the Sanfilippo Wurlitzer theatre organ to the Finnish organist Kalevi Kiviniemi.
Without doubt, this instrument is the best of all in its category.

The Sanfilippo Victorian Palace is an amazing place. There are hundreds of music machines and phonographs, gaming machines, number of steam engines in sizes of centimeters to meters, and much more.

(Background noise means a maintenance group in work.)

  • onko missään enemänn videoita missä tämä J.Eddington soittaa?

    mahtava muusikko, ja mahtavat urut!

  • @MrKeys57 Laita YouTuben inputiin (vasen yläkulma) Jelani Eddington ja sitten kneppaa search-nappulaa. Sieltä tulee hänen videoitaan enemmänkin.

  • Interesting to peek into what a world-class theatre organist is doing and thinking when he's up there performing the magic that he does :)

  • Yes, we were lucky when we got him to guide us for our album recordings.

  • what kind of monster made this instrument

  • @Streetcar1743 IF i remember correctly, (it can differ between organs) the manuals from bottom to top are, accompaniment, great, bombarde, orchestral, and solo. I also have a stoplist somewhere if you want a copy.

  • @raikaljok I have looked high and low for Kalevi Kiviniemi's CD on the Sanfilippo Wurlitzer....is there ANY way to get it??

  • @Streetcar1743 I'm used to Great being on the bottom, so that's unusual. I can't seem to locate a stoplist for the Sanfilippo organ, so I'm not sure, sorry.

  • I am a student organsit and learing professional organ playing thru the American Theatre Organ Society, and after my music session at the City Museum on the 3/17 Wurlitzer there, Al Haker, me and another ATOS member sat down and talked about organs. And after my playing there, I have learned some things about these grand works of art. Such as knowing a safe place to put the console, and judging by the size of this one, theatres are the only plces big enough to house them.

  • @JonasClark thanks for the info. I know that the bottom manual is the Accomp., and the one above it is the Great and the top one is the Solo. But since this has 5 manuals, which of the two directly is the Bombard manual and what's the name of the 5th manual?

  • @Streetcar1743 In the info. Victorian Palace, Jasper Sanfilippo's home, near Chicago. It is open by invitation only, but some Chicago-area theatre organ groups may be able to help get you in. Eighty ranks of pipes in this monster, coupled with a scaled-up replica of the largest console Wurlitzer ever built.

  • Even though Jelani isn't in concert in this clip, what he's playing here sounds fantastic!
