This is a video of the use of a dynamic Flow flow system for arthroscopic surgery. The video highlights the inflow and outflow settings of the fluid flow device and how it helps the surgeon see during surgery. The system works without an mechanical pump and because the gravity system requires (by design) a net positive pressure in the joint space for fluid to flow there is little or no bleeding even without a tourniquet. It also shows how a suction shaver is used to remove the enlarged synoval tissue with the fluid flow system, again with little or no bleeding during the procedure.
What impress me the most about this video is the fact that there is almost no bleeding! I have seen other videos and despite of the fact that patients have been anaesthetized it seems to be very painful. It might depend on which part of the body is being performed the Arthroscopic surgery. At Symposier site you can watch more videos related to this topic just like "Septic arthritis knee arthroscopy"
