He looks too young to be a WW2 veteran!

Dont forget that this could have been filmed a few yrs ago, and many vets were 17 or fake dbeing old enough. He could have been a young one when the war started. Thank yuo for your service!

Thank you Sir for serving our country! Great Americans like you make it free for the rest of us!

The reason they surrendered was they were out flanked and they believed the Americans had crossed the river in force and they were out numbered and facing the wrong way. A classic maneuver used for centuries. They knew the war was almost over and they did not want to die in the last weeks of the war. They did not give out silver stars without merit. If you click on the first me3tv you will read where the date was a misprint and it was 1945. If you were a history buff you would know it was 1945.

i think you misunderstood me i ment the germans would be fighting till the death if it where russians but it where americans cause they knew americans treaded pows good in stead of russians who sended then to siberia and the chance goin back home was very small.

Of course a Russian would keep fighting you moron.
retreating = death in russian army
In ww2 Stalin made it so any retreating soldier would be shot on spot.

@ZF1000 hes living healthy :D but still i agree!

thanks for that glad we all missed it.
that guy think they surrendered because of 8 kills thats bullshit if the american was russian they would have fought on but they realized it where americans so they could surrender because they wont die in a sovjet camp

Obviously not a veteran. In this battle who knew what would happen? Took courage to charge. Yes the Germans were flanked and saw from their point of view a problem - but at least it was not Russians charging them. Had it been on the Eastern Front, I am guessing it would have been a battle to the death of all. Once flanked by Americans, the choice of surrender was much easier to make. But - no less stressful for both sides with unknown outcome at the start.
