@Riaye Well... to her credit she seems like a good home cook. Using premade materials is convenient, although there are obvious downsides to it. I think the general consensus is that a self made pie crust introduces a whole new realm of possibilities... but I don't hate the way she made her pie. It set nicely, probably had good lemony flavor, and looked good.

candy lemon would have gone great with this, and just a little wipped cream with homemade lemon syrup. that would be heavenly. look great though

If you don't like how she makes it, then make your own your way. She's showing her way, nobody gives a shit if you don't like it, don't make it how she does if her way is so wrong.

No one said you had to use a store bought crust too if you make the recipe. Maybe she's working with an easier form for a dessert for busy families or people not familiar with cooking. Besides, the filling is typically more important than the crust.
You're making it sound like she's an awful person for using pre-made materials. Should we churn our own butter too?
