no, it's not satire. young people have keen insight because cynicism has yet to form a thick callous on their young minds. yet power is had by those with experience, who readily dismiss the young, hence their suffering.

it's satirical, iggy. i think the whole point of the song is how painful it can be to be young. maybe it's about them not realizing they are going blindly down paths thinking it's fun and cool, and they could get burned.

there's pain and suffering in life at any age. there's also revelation and joy. that's the truth.
