I have been a huge fan of Musica Antiqua Koln ever since I brought home my first Archive LP of their work in the '70s. Of all the many superb early music ensembles we have today, MAK most impressively combines a steely, hyper-precise approach with great warmth and the sublest flexibility within the phrasing. A winning and exciting combination, one that by comparison makes certain other ensembles sound a bit stiff. How they do it, with utter fidelity to the tempo, I don't know. Ravishing!

Not bad, but it would be truly great if they could manage the whole concerto in under 10 minutes!
