  • this isn't actually the battle of Britain theme, it's the Luftwaffe march

  • This has been pointed out on a few occasions over the last few months and I must say it's a rather odd title for a theme to such a great British movie. On a somewhat similar note I was very saddened to hear of the passing of Harry Patch, the last surviving British soldier of WWI. There is talk of a state funeral and MR Patch richly deserves one as the last representative of 'the lost generation'. The last tangible link to the vast army of the great war has been severed...R.I.P. MR Patch

  • Yeah it's better than many national anthems I've heard.....but what country would be worthy of such a great tune?

  • I love the movie themes of Elmer Bernstein, Max Steiner and many more and the theme that Maurice Jarre wrote for Ryans Daughter is one of my all time favorites....but somehow Ron Goodwins war movie themes can 'stir the blood'' like no other....the likes of 'Where Eagles There' and many more are unbeatable!!

  • Ron Goodwin should have benn knighted for his services to Film Theme music! What sad Prime Minister would not bow to this? Well Blair didn't even reply! Ron Goodwin gave his all for Miss Marple and everything to the Vattle of Britain and we could not even knight the man!

    Shame on the UK politicians!

I still think he should be knighted, posthumously!

His family and the world's music lovers deserve it! After Maurice Jarre, whose film themes do you remember?

  • In the state of Britain now we couldn't stand up to a tramp with a sharpened stick. weve lost our national pride thanks to liberals and lefties.

  • Excellent Propagaganda!!! Wonderful music!!!!

  • @010110102 - I loved the original BATTLE OF BRITAIN 'Main Theme' and it should never have been changed, it defined the movie for me. A big mistake to change it.

  • @river2walk Mate have you ever seen this film, the Luftwaffe march is played in the intro to the film and the battle of Britain theme is played in the end credits

  • @010110102 aces high- changed 1976

  • Cheers to the Brits!! The B of B was the turning point in the ETO as Midway was in the Pacific.

  • Great Ringtone!! Luftwaffe - Aim High!!!

  • This is much better than the films main theme.

  • Great music by the late Ron Goodwin who should have been knighted for his contribution to cinema music! Some versions of the video give excellent info as to how the film was made and there are some very interesting points!!!!

  • Did you know that Many mock-ups of Spitfires and Hurricanes were made in the months prior to filming. Some had lawn mower engines fitted and could be taxied around the airfield, but if they braked too hard they would flip up onto their nose. This happened several times in front of the cameras and some of the footage was eventually used in the film.

thats right ... but on the other side .. was britain prepared to stop an invasion? We all can be lucky, that Hitler didnt win the war. Otherwise most of us now would be dead .. or never have had been born. The plans for exterminating most of the planet were ready at that time. And what most germans dont realize .. they/we would have been the first ones after war to be selected into "usefull" and "worthless"
