In his premiere on YouTube, Leo will stretch to great lengths to escape this basement room. Sometimes he uses both paws to rotate the doorknob, but today he only gives it a cursory swipe. Even still, he is not stretched to full length. He was named both for Pope St. Leo I and for his obvious leonine appearance. Sorry about the color. He is orange, but the room is not. Also, he weighs about 20 lbs. and is the diameter of a large bowling ball when sitting upright.

  • My maine coon you either leave the door a little open so he can push it open or he will try and rip it apart.

  • Yes, they are very strong-willed cats.

  • Wow hes quite the lion!!! What a beauty tho very pretty animal...THANKS FOR RESCUING!!!!! Make adoption your only option everybody!!!

  • If you live in northwestern Oregon, Salem Friends of Felines is a wonderful organization that needs your support. Their cats stay in foster homes until they are adopted so they are socialized.

  • Where'de you get him?

  • Salem (Oregon) Friends of Felines runs a cat shelter with an outlet in a local PetSmart. I saw this huge orange mass pressed against the cage from across the room. A little while later, he came home with me.

  • @Audinos wow, I thought it was the record holding Leo, great cat anyway

  • I heard him make the shrilling noise when you put the camera to his face. Gotta love it. Sometimes our Maine Coon sounds like a baby Wookie.

  • keeps lookin at the camera like, c'mon, hairless monkey, make the shiny round part open the door! what do I pay you for??

  • my dad has a maine coon and a siamese snowshoe cat. The siamese always hisses whenever the coon is around him.

    So yeah, Siamese hate long-hairs.
