Shirley Bassey Wild Thing

This is totally a world EXCLUSIVE, guaranteed 100%!!! I met Sheryl Bassey in Marbella in the late 80's and asked her why she doesn't record some up to date songs as Dusty Springfield had just had a hit with the Pet Shop Boys,. Bassey told me no one had offered her anything. I had written a silly little number called 'Cruel' I played it to her, she liked it so we recorded it at Genetics studios in UK, at approx 4am she asked to record a B side, I had just finished the backing tracks for a cover of 'Wild Thing' and to my surprise she agreed to record it!!! And for the first time ever here it is approx 20 years later!!! Sadly her management refused to release it.

I like this a lot! I'm pretty convinced! Really sounds like DSB. Not so keen on the very end of the song (repetitions). Don't think it really suits her style. A bit too gravelly for want of a better description. Think it should be released with a re-mix! LoL

it is a good impersonation. Shirley was beiong adventurous in the 1980s just listen to `NEW YORK STATE OF MIND` `THE RHYTHM DIVINE` for two examples. record companies might refuse to release individual traclks but her management would not be able to dictate that to her. Who is Sheryl Bassey?
