Larry Wessels, director of Christian Answers of Austin, Texas/ Christian Debater (YouTube channel: CANSWERSTV, websites: BIBLEQUERY ORG, HISTORYCART COM & MUSLIMHOPE COM; see also Richard Bennett's website, BEREANBEACON ORG) presents this debate between a former Roman Catholic now turned Protestant & a former Protestant now turned Roman Catholic . The debaters: representing the "Sola Scriptura" (the "Scriptures Alone" & nothing else) position is Rob Zins, Th.M, Dallas Theological Seminary (website: CWRC-RZ ORG), former Roman Catholic, author of the books, "On the Edge of Apostasy -The Evangelical Romance with Rome," "Romanism: The Relentless Roman Catholic Assault on the Gospel of Jesus Christ," "I Am a Christian. Perhaps You are Not. Is This a Big Deal?", editor of the newsletter "Theo-Logical", conference speaker, director of "A Christian Witness to Roman Catholics," & special guest with Larry Wessels in the 16 hour video series posted on YOUTUBE entitled, "ROMAN CATHOLICISM SERIES." Representing the Roman Catholic position which elevates Roman Catholic traditions & rituals to the same level as the Scriptures (the Bible) is former Protestant now turned Roman Catholic Gerry Matatics. According to Wikipedia Mr Matatics is a Sedevacantist apologist (Sedevacantism is the position held by a minority of Traditionalist Catholics who claim that the Papal See has been vacant since either the death of Pope Pius XII in 1958 or Pope John XXIII in 1963. Sedevacantists believe that Paul VI (1963--1978), John Paul I (1978), John Paul II (1978--2005) and Benedict XVI (since 2005) have been neither true Catholics nor true Popes, by virtue of allegedly having espoused the heresy of Modernism, or of having otherwise denied or contradicted solemnly defined Catholic dogmas. Some of them classify John XXIII (1958--1963) also as a Modernist antipope.) for what he's termed "consistent Catholicism" as opposed to "counterfeit Catholicism" (referring to mainstream Catholicism). Prior to his conversion to Catholicism he was an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). He used to work for Karl Keating, as part of his "Catholic Answers" apologist team. Mr Matatics taught as a professor in St. Joseph's University, the Notre Dame Pontifical Catechetical Institute, and served for three years as Professor of Sacred Scripture and Apologetics at Our Lady of Guadalupe International Seminary of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter in Scranton, Pennsylvania, before becoming a Sedevacantist.
Sola scriptura (Latin ablative, "by scripture alone") is the doctrine that the Bible contains all knowledge necessary for salvation and holiness. Consequently, sola scriptura demands that only those doctrines are to be admitted or confessed that are found directly within or indirectly by using valid logical deduction or valid deductive reasoning from scripture. However, sola scriptura is not a denial of other authorities governing Christian life and devotion. Rather, it simply demands that all other authorities are subordinate to, and are to be corrected by, the written word of God. Sola scriptura was a foundational doctrinal principle of the Protestant Reformation held by the Reformers and is a formal principle of Protestantism today (one of the "Five Solas" of the Reformation). Roman Catholicism must necessarily reject & rebuke SOLA SCRIPTURA simply because much, if not most of the Roman Catholic religion is not Biblical either doctrinally or otherwise & is based on "traditions" instead (Matthew 15:1-20).

  • What a knucklehead, where does he think the Bible came from?? I like the way he says Rome added to the Bible, actually the "reformers" deleted from the bible

    These guys crack me up

  • @billyboy630 You may want to check two of our three websites: BIBLEQUERY ORG & HISTORYCART COM. These sites will give you information about the Bible. Please check out our Early Christian Church History video series (type "LARRY WESSELS EARLY CHRISTIAN CHURCH HISTORY" in the YOUTUBE search box for an array of videos, of interest is "EARLY CHRISTIAN CHURCH HISTORY #3: EARLY CHRISTIANS QUOTED SCRIPTURE WITHOUT A ROMANIST OR KJV BIBLE." See ex-priest Richard Bennett's website BEREANBEACON ORG too.

  • Where is the debate to be heard that took place between Rob Zins & William Albreacht ~~ I have looked all over for it and its not to be found.

William was supposed to put it up on his channel ~ but so far not a sign of it obviously the debate must have gone badly for William otherwise why not post it and let people decide who was telling the truth

William got obliterated on Dr Whites Dividing Line & he lied about it in his video reflection of his Talk with Dr White~ so wheres the debate William

  • @glizag That's a good question. I'll copy & paste your comment to an e-mail & send it to Rob Zins & see if he can send me an answer. If you don't hear back from me that means I didn't hear back from Rob. Blessings.

  • @CAnswersTV Ok thanks very much ~~ I would like to hear that debate with Rob refuting the RCC Marian dogmas against William, who I think is more of an ardent RC than any kind of apologist ~ Dr White has made William look like a 3rd grader every time he chats with him

I guess Rob would pulverize William in a formal debate ~~ I think it was up to William to post the debate on his channel ~~ so far it has not happened ~~ gives me the idea that Rob destroyed him ~ thanks again

  • @glizag I sent the e-mail to Rob & here's his response: "As far as William A. is concerned he canceled the debate with me. Said he had a bad throat problem. It got ugly after that. We were stuck with almost 1000.00 worth of airline and hotel accommodations that we could not cancel. All of this was purchased in advance of the debate. He canceled and promised to reimburse us. He lied to us about a money order being sent. He has refused to respond to my e-mails." Rob says he's through with him.

  • @Zebedex "I am not familiar with these claims so I won't try and debunk them." Then shouldn't you familiarize yourself about these claims, and respond with an intelligent answer, or did the popes actions....allowing a pro-abortionist speak at one of the RC institutions, bother or concern you at all? If the pope is this "leader" and "Shepherd" of the flock, then why didn't he Lead and Shepherd? And try not to deflect my question by calling it a "cheap shot." Do you have a answer or not?

  • who run Notre Dame and tell them to rescind the invitation? As the "Shepard" of the flock, surely the pope must of known that a ravenous wolf was going to be let loose onto the flock at Notre Dame, correct? Why did the pope do nothing to stop this? What kind of a leader is that? And as a RC yourself, what was/is your reaction to this? Did you speak out against it, or did you bury your head in the sand and didn't want to challenge your so-called "leader," and hold him accountable?

  • @Zebedex If I may ask you a question? Seeing you are a RC, I would like to ask you a question. As a RC, you are against abortion, correct? If this is the RC position, and that Rome claims to have this God-given unity found in "tradition," and a living head (The Pope) who can interpret doctrine and safeguard the faith, why did Rome allow the most pro-abortion President ever to be elected to office, Obama, to speak at Notre Dame's graduating class of 2009? Why didn't the Pope call up the priests..

  • @CAnswersTV Thanks, interesting stuff, I obviously didnt read it all, but not sure what the point is?
