Joy Division - Isolation (Control)

Control is a 2007 black-and-white biopic film about Ian Curtis (19561980), lead singer of post-punk band Joy Division. The screenplay written by Matt Greenhalgh is based on the book Touching from a Distance, by Curtis's widow, Deborah, who is also a co-producer of the film. The film was directed by Dutch director Anton Corbijn.

@dianalee84 Well I hope what I learned is close enough. I always thought punk started in the 70s as well until older people corrected my knowledge of Punk. I wish I could have experienced CBGBs but I was maybe 9 or 10 and on the west coast at the time. to late for the 60s and too soon for the 70s

@toomanyangryidiots post punk formed after 1977. Punk changes though. It's basicly a term used for garage bands from the late 50s and early 60s till now. Ramons were not the first Punk Band. They were mimicking the early 60s garage rock called Garage Punk. the mod scene took over then psychedelic until the Ramons were scene at CBGBs.. magazine called them punk, Brits saw it.. took it a step farther, died in 78 when The Jam tried to revive Mod and they called it Post Punk.
