@writing314 The first step is learning not to care. The second is learning to care without caring. Detachment is relatively easy. Detached attachment means you are fully focused on what you are doing, without caring for the result of your actions.
@peterpandoer . when i was meditating for those few months it got to the point where the ups and downs of being high didnt effect my realisations i had had that nothing could be improved, i just stayed present and i didnt even care wether i lived or died, that seemed to give me a lot of power suddenly because i gave up caring about myself.. but now im trying to get my life organised and help myself ive crumbled in to a nervous wreck haha, its all opposite!!
@writing314 The most powerful combination i know is first to practice holding the breath followed by a slow exhale. Second to follow is mantra meditation. Ive explained both techniques in various vids. Once you learn how to hold your breath for 1 to 2 mins and to be fully focused on the mantra for 1 to 2 hours, you can smoke as much as you still want and it won't make a difference. Question is : you want the permanent high or the impermanent high ?

@peterpandoer pete im going to do some yoga this time but i want ot keep it very simple, can you reccomend 1 or 2 daily practices that distract the attention away from mind?? i have been doing 1 where you look at tip of nose and hold attention in between eyebrows which seems to work brilliantly, any others?? thyanks
@peterpandoer i also was not working at the time but it seems i have2 put on an act and go against what i feel like naturally doing a lot of the time now because otherwise id get fired haha, can i ask pete, do you smoke weed? i feel like smoking all the time and im getting close to giving up all my acting im doing at the moment again and just letting everything happen because i came to such peace when i gave up before, but it would mean i would be smoking again and not caring about body etc
@writing314 Honestly, the only sure way to dive in without losing your inner peace is to practice it every day, whether you feel you need it or not. Insert some meditation time firmly into your daily schedule.
@peterpandoer i felt relaxed to move back into life but i went back to old habits that were still slightly pulling me in, now i feel i have lost the peace, i thought if i just held my attention in my chest i could come back into life but my attentions all over the place
@writing314 shanti shanti, things go up and down. It is quite natural that when you have found some peace, then you feel more relaxed to again dive into maya/leela. The trick is to dive in without getting wet. It takes time. Never drown in dissatisfaction with yourself or life, that is the key.
@peterpandoer i smoked everyday and meditated for 6 months, i just watched everything and was still and before long everything slowed down and i became peaceful beyond belief i got to the point where i no longer had any questions or worrys, no anxiety, its weird because when i stopped trying to understand everything suddenly i understood everything, but when i quit weed my mind got faster and i couldnt cope so i gave in to family pressures and desires etc, and here i am suffering again
