    Right shoulder first, in Orthodoxy

  • @blackhorse099 left shoulder first

  • is it right should or left shoulder first ???

  • @182RG – Once knowledge of the concepts of the divine/sacred in the ancient world is gained, it serves to provide better understanding of such concepts related by the Word of God. It is only them that we can begin to understand the implications of the adulterous acts of Israel in the ways of the gods of their neighbours, and of Egypt, which are so widely testifies by the Word of God – and indeed gain better understanding of the state of affairs relating to that same deception in today's world.

  • @182RG – The problem with Christians today is that they refuse to delve into the very subject that is so widely testified of by the Word of God – that of the ways and gods of the ancient world. As the Lord testifies: "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge" – in today's world nothing had changed, except that time has served to veil the knowledge of the past. These ways proliferated the world so widely that no study of the Word is complete without earnestly taking these into account.

  • @182RG – These mirrors speak to the devil masquerading as an angel of light, the Moon god across the ancient world was deceivingly worshiped as the 'son of light', 'illuminating lamp' – known as "Helel Ben-Shachar" in the Hebrew, a name for the Babylonian Moon deity (Helel: 'shining one' Helel Ben-Shachar: "morning star, son of dawn"), which is translated as "Lucifer, son of the morning" in Isaiah 14:12. The worship of this mirror deity as the divine 'son' was common across the ancient world.

  • @182RG – Indeed the opposite is true, Mithra, Horus and the many other so-called saviour gods of the ancient world were clones of Jesus. That Satan said "I will ascend above the heights of the clouds" relates to the setting up of solar worship - deceived man worshiped the sun, moon and stars as physical representations of their gods in the heavens. In setting himself up to be "like the most high", the deceiver mirrored many of the rightful aspects and titles of the Lord God himself.

  • @RUKEAL <<<this concept was borrowed wholesale from the pagan Hermes

I don't think we should consider that to invalidate anything. If we do, would we not also have to consider the atheists' claim that Jesus is a clone of Mithra or Horus?

  • @182RG – As to who the true saints are, I believe this is beyond our scope of knowledge, in the same way that any specific information relating to the fates of individuals after death is also hidden from us. No doubt all will be revealed on that great day!! Until then we live in faith and blessed hope!

  • @182RG - The 'saints' of Rev 5:8-9 are the true saints of the Lord. It is doubtful that many of these feature on the list of so-called canonized figures of the Roman Catholic Church, a prime example being St Christopher, the patron saint of travelers – this concept was borrowed wholesale from the pagan Hermes - guardian of travelers, who is linked to the Egyptian Thoth...one of many such examples which are simply traditions of man.

While the NLT is often untrustworthy, I agree with your point.
