here is how to fix the problem. leave your ipod on the charger over-night or on the charger for a long period of time and it should work(its how i fixed mine)

For everyone that was wondering, I ended up getting it to work after a few months of just letting it sit. I didn't open it, it didn't have water damage, the click wheel was just misaligned. I already sold it and bought an iPod Touch
