  • Pretty good haul Sean! The AV Famicom uses the same power supply as the Super Famicom - 9v DC with a negative center polarity. I'm jelous of those Ramna 1/2 PCE CD games, especially since they're so cheap! Even though they're likely just Japanese visual novels, I love that series nearly as much as Urusei Yatsura.

  • @SatoshiMatrix1 Yeah, I eventually got one separately. The Famicom, AV Famicom, and Super Famicom actually all use the HVC-002 power supply, so that's pretty fortunate! I can't imagine a situation where I'd need to run more than one of those at once.

  • You can plug ur famicom with the gamecube av

  • @1JDTV Yup, this is true! But I would still need an AC adapter. Fortunately, this is also the same as original Famicom, or the Super Famicom. UNfortunately, mine has a frayed cable and doesn't work so well any more, so I've been using a Genesis Model 1 adapter for a while and really wanted a new one.

Fortunately, once again, I was able to buy one separately. :)

  • @SeanOrange i love your videos man ther awesome i just got a supernintendo and its kool but a want a famicom so bad ;)

  • Great video as always and nice finds you have there Sean. You bought pretty much everything to a tee that I would buy if I went to Japan. :P I have been focusing on mainly American based gaming systems for the last 20 years, but I have been buying Japanese based games here and there, including several new FDS titles.. Some day I might actually be able to play them. We'll see.

  • I should probably clarify that I live in Japan.

  • I would so hang with you guys. Of course, the closest I get to old school is using an emulator to play PC Engine CDs. Still, if anyone wants a guest at their house to make a video, I'm your guy.

  • @xnamkcor Ah, yes. Vinnk informs me that there's a full GameCube board inside of all Wiis, which is why you can't transfer your save files to the Wii, etc, because there's literally the previous hardware in there. That DOES mean that the pinouts on the board are indeed still there, which also means it must handle the disc just fine -- it just won't find the hardware like if you didn't connect it to a GameCube. BUT, I guess someone could complete the circuit!

  • @SeanOrange Yeah, Just the disc. I assume the software checks for the device, but how does the Wii handle it? Does the Wii still have the hardware to hook up the add-on in the PCB? I assume it just assumes nothing is there and either crashes or gives an error message, but it's be fun to see someone wire up the GB Player to a Wii if the pinouts are still on the board.
