A response from Judith Bourque:
To the office of Student activities, since it seems you organised the
evening with Bob Roth commenting on David Sieveking's "David Wants
to Fly". I was not able to post a comment on You Tube, so I am sending it via email:

Judith Bourque here, author of Robes of Silk Feet of Clay, which is an autobiographical account of my love affair with Maharishi, initiated in January 1970. Someone sent me the link to Bob Roth's evening at MUM. I would like to just make a few comments since I was not present at this meeting in order to answer questions about the validity of my part in David's film or my book. Bob refers to the Parusha program that he has been a member of for decades and says that he feels fine with it...my book is not a discussion of the possible benefits of remaining celibate, it is simply my experience of Maharishi not being truthful about his own status as a Brahmachari. Perhaps he was in the beginning, but he gave that up during the 70's. Bob says that my story is not corraborated. At the end of my book is a witness statement by former Skin Boy Rob McCutchan, who, from the position of sitting on Maharishi's veranda, saw me walking down to Maharishi's house in Rishikesh in the middle of the night. Of course, Maharishi and I were alone in his bedroom, so in that sense my account cannot be corroborated. Then there is a woman in the audience whose name sounds like Sandra Crow who says she knows me very well and that I wrote the book to gain recognition. Forgive me Sandra, but I do not remember you at all. When was it that we met and become such good friends? I would also like to add that if I had written the book to gain recognition, I would be pretty foolish to wait until now. I should have in that case written it when Maharishi was still interesting for the media. I can add that if any TMers or ex TMers are interested in discussing this issue directly with me rather than discussing it with people who have opinions about me, I am willing to do that anytime. I am not asking anyone to renounce their meditation or their love and appreciation for Maharishi since I am still grateful for what he gave me, but I am no longer willing to live a lie. judithbourque@email.com

With best regards,
Judith Bourque

  • Dear Baris, Yes I think it's true that there are people who can lead happy lives without having sexual relations. However, whatever the reason, Maharishi had difficulty denying himself this aspect of life. I was not the only woman he was intimate with. Have you read my book? There are several details there about his relationship to the whole matter...you might find it helpful in understanding him better, the human part of him. He was still a great teacher of consciousness.

  • The fact that Judith is a "Dream Interpreter" who gives too much importance to dreams makes me think that she has difficulty distinguishing the dream she had sometime from the reality.

There are people who don't have sexual lives without needing anything like that. Not because they might be trying to hide their desires or push themselves but because they live the ultimate joy of life and they don't need anything external to make themselves happier or more pleasant. Maharishi would not need it

  • If Maharishi was needing to have a sexual relationship why would he choose Judith? Would it be because she was the only attractive woman out there or she was particularly skillful in certain aspects of life? Why Maharishi did not continue to have a relationship later on if he was really needing it?

He surely had caring and close relationships with many people around him, so if Judith was right,it wouldn't be a matter of intimacy, but desire to have sex. This would be a very immature thing!

  • Dear Bob Roth, you dont believe a relationship of Judith with MMY. I believe it, I was there in Rishikesh with Judith. I also can understand, why this book is ann accusation? Its a lovestory and not an accusation. Cant MMY do, what he wants to do? He did not live in the cage of anyones believe and hopes. He was free and he taught freedom. Indian monks understand this thing in an other way as christian monks. Remember Tantra. Judiths book is a late gift of MMY to you to enlargen consciousness.

  • Thank You Judith for Your courage! That is true spirituality....and deep below all layers of denial everybody knows...
