oh my gosh I think I sang this exact recording! Was this at marshall high school in tysons/mclean, va? I sang this a couple years ago there for the NOVA district choir-- I was from madison high.
I just got it stuck in my head this week and had to come listen to it. So crazy weird if this is the one I sang.

@LemonMeringue49 listen to the one by the New Mexico All State Mixed Choir did-it was the women of the mixed choir 2002 that did it and tell me what you think? they did so awesome

I don't know who could not listen to this song and get shivers. we used to sing this song in the commons area and it would echo throughout the school what a wonderful haunting song. we kept singing weep no more though till you could barly hear us singing it was incredible to sing

What a haunting, poignant, gorgeous piece. A choir at my child's school sang this and I had to find it to hear it again. This is beautifully done. It makes me want to weep.
