A new report says global poverty and hunger are increasing dramatically. The non-profit U.S. group Bread for the World says the global economic crisis could do even more damage. The group urges Congress and the incoming Obama administration to make global development a top priority.
@SouthernTexan2 OK first of all it is understood that it is a biological survival mechanism to have a large family size as it increases chance of survival. Look back at say, British history in the 1800's; much higher poverty levels, much larger family size. It is natural, we all do it under those circumstances. Secondly, if you look at the history of modern US empire expansion via the "economic hitman" mode of economic control, then you can start to understand why so many people live in poverty.

@downy62...Knock all the U.S puppet and England puppet out of Africa, than the poor and food beggar will disappear from America face. The Earth is energy field that can sustain 30 billion people, if we put the right military, leader and scientist to work. Today wealthy leader are the world problem not the world; they lie, lie, lie and force non nuclear state to collapsed. They want to buy more land, so can steal the resource to buy another Island and mansion, a racist billionaire gone wild.

What gets me is that these poor countries keep having six to eight kids per family knowing thay cannot feed them and then expect the US to feed them. Why should the US be responsible for feeding kids all over the world? Teach them about birth control.
