@112kep ... Even though the first thing he did with it was try to get the bucket away? I work at a rescue and I know that when a bird thinks something is HIS, he doesn't want you touching it, or trying to take it away (unless he trusts you, and like the owner of this vid said, he's still working on that).

@FLY2SXM If you had read the text in the video and actually watched the mans actions, you would have realized that he was not approaching the bird, he was trying to get the plastic bucket while maintaining a safe distance from the bird that does not yet trust him.

We have just a white female cockatoo. She's a good bird, but still very skiddish with people. She only goes to one of three people. That's me, my sister and my sister's girlfriend. Anyone else, she freaks out and flys away. We think the people who had her before mistreated her and because of what we learned from the people before us. We have to watch men and kids.

We rescued a Moluccan Cockatoo about 3 1/2 years ago. He had five homes in the first 5 years of his life. He is now 8 1/2 and I am so glad to have him. His name is Jake and my wife worked with him tirelessly. He has become the most loving and fun addition to our family. Although he did bite us right away, he is now able to be held by anyone. He just wants love and attention. Jake has a few videos on Youtube. If you want to see our 5th member of the family, search Jake The Texting Bird. Take Care

i own a greenwing. she was a rescue. she has beak issues, OCD, foot and talon issues, and worst of all some serious trust issues. it takes mountains of time and love and remember that trust goes TWO ways or the relationship wont work. it doesnt happen overnight, especially with a second-hand bird. dont expect it to love your kids or your spouse the same way it loves you. prepare your kids or someone that the bird knows and trusts to inherit it when you die.

I think that the person, could not handle the bird, so he was using the stick to edge the bird back in the cage, the cage was a good size cage, and the bird was out to play. it is sad however to know that this bird is not able to be handled and it could be...

you are so right about the description :)

Use a stick, if you need to. You have to teach the bird and if you teach him the stick is okay, he won't be afraid of it anymore and can actualy learn target training with it. M2's are NOT 1 person birds, if they are in your home, it's because they haven't been socialized with other people. I have an abused M2, but he lets my whole family spend time with him, once he's given them a warning "hit" with his beak. All my birds are abused and not socialized, until they came to me. Keep on caring!
This video makes me sick...These are 1 person birds and should NOT be approached with a F ing stick trying to earn the birds respect. I agree you should educate yourself before getting a M2. When the bird accepts you, you are it..., and it ends there.(1 person) " Moluccan Cockatoo.. Watch if you dare?" Did you make this the title because you want hits? or do you have no knowledge of this type of bird? The M2's are love bugs and not the type of bird that can be left alone all day.

@FLY2SXM I made this video because I am sick and tired of people getting beautiful birds and not understanding the responsibility of taking care of one. I have several birds that I have rescued that have been horribly abused and it kills me to see what people can do. I want people to be aware that these birds are able to do a lot of destruction in a short amount of time. Will there owner still be able to love this precious bird when it does this?

@shellainaz If you are not able to love them no matter what then please don't get one. The love these birds have for there owner is so precious and yes it is LIFE LONG. So many people never understand this. The first time something goes wrong they give the bird up. Do they know how this will effect this precious bird? It angers me to see what humans can do to these precious birds.

Way to go!!! Like I've said before..... there needs to be more of these types of videos out there for many to see!
Bottom line..... do your RESEARCH! Parrots are NOT cute little ornamenets that help bring out the colors of your home decor. They are a life long commitment!
