  • not high ! Just left of the centerline, check the papi on the right side of the runway ! two reds, two whites !

  • did u ask why is it neccessary for TAG training? why is it required for heavies?

  • It depends on the aircraft you fly. It's easy to understand that is not the same to fly a B737 than a cessna. Also see that is not the same the simulator than the real airplane, almost the same but not identical. It's just a law requirment ! I hope this reply could help you understand why we have to be checked on the real airplane.

  • why TAG practise? aren't heavies suppose to land once they touch down? anything unusual suppose to go around no? i thought TAG is meant for the fighter jets only, especially on the carrier deck.

  • to obtain your type rating you must complete without any help, manually flying the acft 6 TAG

  • Hi all. This is called base training. To obtain your licence you have to fly the aircraft at least 6 touch and go in the real aircraft.I am the one in the right seat. The left seat is occupied by the captain. In the center seat is the safety pilot, and in the rear left seat was one of my friends doing the base training in the other seat. The camera man was another pilot,he was not seated. He is at the door of the cockpit. He was not seated thats why the cameraman looks like drunk;)

  • @toritogatito you meen left side

  • bit hight no?

  • This is an excellent video, really captures the essence of training.....looks like the captain took one second too many in setting those flaps for the go-around, this was why the capt leaned over correct?

  • Is that Cardiff Airport Runway 30 by any chance?

  • yes, alot of the time when a pilot is being checked in a simulator, although they take it seriously the mentality of "start again" is still there, where they know if they mess up anything they can just reset the flight and try again. The base training forces the pilots to concentrate on what it's like to fly the actual aircraft, and the inherant risks from it.

  • wow!!! cool video and congrats on being that far
