@MichiganTreasure 0-60 in 22 seconds, tube type, bias tires the wore out in 6,000 miles, frequent flat tires or blow outs, tune-ups every 5,000 miles, poor handling, brakes even worse, no air conditioning, no power windows, no power door locks, even the heater was optional, a car that was pretty well shot or worn out by 70,000 miles. I could go on, but why bother. Good for nostalgia, but give me a modern car for my daily ride any time.
@FURY1958 oh totally.....if chevrolet ever re-issued this car they would pay off all their debt in no time. I have wondered for many years why the big American car companies don't re-issue some of their classic designs.....49 ford, 58 Ford, 55 Chev etc
Great old memory lane presentation. It's both fun and sad. It's fun to watch and remember how America once was. It's sad to know this will never be again.
@FURY1958 My parents had one of those cars when I was a kid. We were at a hamburger stand where me and my brother waited in the car for our mother to come out when a lady bumped us in the backend. It scared me and I cried but my older brother laughed.
Every decade dates inself....eventually. As the population becomes more sophisticated, selling becomes more difficult...for the obvious reasons.

@coolgames14 It has to be their old inline 6. The Belair did not come with a V-8 until the 1955 model year. Happy Motoring!

Where would they play a 12 minute commercial? Before movies in the theater?

Sure takes my breath away. Thanks for making these old spots available. Makes me wonder if today's car ads will look as silly as these some day.
