  • @evergreenrocks It's just you.

  • @hifiwizard During this film sequence, the Charger loses five hubcaps and has different ones missing in different shots. As a result of shooting from multiple angles simultaneously, and some angles' footage used at different times to give the illusion of different streets, the speeding cars can be seen passing the same green Volkswagen Beetle four different times, and the same blue sedan with black top three times.

  • Wonder how many days San Fran gets interupted by filming? What other movies was Bill in?

  • Thank you for this

  • Am i the only one to notice they pass the same green VW Beetle three times?, probably the same clip repeated or same scene different camera angles.

  • Over here in the UK, we had Peter Brayham who was very much like Bill Hickman, a terrific stunt arranger who worked on the tough cop series The Sweeney and the action thriller show The Professionals which owed a lot to Bullitt.

  • THIS is the REAL deal . The chase scenes were shot at-speed ; nothing trick here .

Bill Hickman was a hell of a guy , just as Carey Loftin , Bud Eakin , et al. , were .

Although there's some info that's lacking here , it conversely shows many highlights of craft that I wasn't aware of , as most footage is of the infamous chase. And , who doesn't enjoy seeing all of those gorgeous gals in mini-dresses and pvc knee boots !

Thanks much for sharing this great vid !

  • Yes, bring back the muscle cars!

  • Makes me proud to be a San Franciscan! We need more movies like Bullitt... and we need more American muscle cars back on the roads! And yes, Daniel Craig does look like Steve McQueen......... (that'd be something if they did a remake of the car chase scene in 2011 or 2012 with Daniel Craig playing as Lt. Bullitt.... though it would likely never happen).

  • Saw this in '68 AFTER I saw the movie...I thought I'd NEVER se it again, they played it on TV on channel 11 in NYC....Thanks!
