Friends, lovers and even foes should be treated with dignity and kindness as they are the aforesaid before being Hindoos, Muslims, Christians etc.
And please don't regard All Muslims as Pakistanis. There are Pakistani Muslims as well as Indian Muslims. I'm sure both Indians and Pakistanis would like to be treated as humans first. So please stop this and talk about the common likes and dislikes. That's a great place to start. I'm sure you're gonna find so many things to talk about.
